Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Our company name, Karyoo, is based on the Japanese word, Karyu.
The literal English translation for the word is "downstream". We felt this was the perfect word to match our vision to build a software platform that could automatically drive tasks and decisions downstream in an organization with greater predictability and better outcomes.
Our Story
Peter Thomson and Franz Torrez are the co-founders of Karyoo. Peter led several software startups from idea to exit and is well-versed with Software-as-a-Service. After receiving a masters in AI technology, Franz dedicated his time to building world-class systems for enterprises in LATAM. He as successfully developed on-premise process automation systems for several small to medium sized companies. With the rapid digital transformation of the business and consumer world, Franz saw a massive opportunity to migrate his software and clients to the cloud to take advantage of remote computing.
The partnership with Peter and Franz led to the subsequent creation of Karyoo.
